Start our organisation

Ukraine has been in a state of war since February 2022. Millions of children, women and men fear for their lives and their future. Your donations are more important than ever in the face of this humanitarian catastrophe.

The beginning
The start of the war on 24.02.22 shocked me hugely, as well as many other people in my environment. After I‘d been accompanying an aid transport with medical supplies to Ukraine, the Head of the Deutsche Flugambulanz gGmbH (German Air Ambulance) approached me and asked if I could imagine setting up a joint mission with the DFA – and the Airlift Ukraine was born. It was by chance that I was desperately looking for donors at the time and found a big German foundation, Ein Herz für Kinder (A Heart for Children), to cover the costs of the evacuations. Since then, we‘ve been able to give more than 50 children a better future.
The background

In total, I was in Ukraine for more than 3 months. I had been working with an NGO operating there for a long time. Most of the evacuated people were children. So far, it has always been “makeshift”, and I would like to change that.

This is why I decided to start my own NGO.

But this presents a great challenge for me, because I have never done anything comparable before!

Note: The NGO Ambulance for Kids was founded only recently. All pictures which I used here were created by me, but still for the association Paramedic Brandenburg e.V.. I have accompanied all the transports on here myself. The ambulance cars are designed more for “normal” adult transports, I have specialised in children with AFK. From special mattresses to special equipment to a special transport incubator, everything will be available in the future. I want to offer child intensive care transports more safely and to a high Level standard. Improvisation can exist in exceptional cases, but it must not be the rule…
